1st cousin, 2nd cousin, 1st cousin once removed, 3rd cousin....I'm not
sure I've ever talked to a single person who knows the exact rule on
this cousin thing! We surely don't follow the rules in my family and
everybody is pretty much your plain cousin, aunt/uncle and we like it
that way ;) A few weeks ago the girls and I went to VA to see my cousin,
Sarah and her family. My 4 cousins on my dad's side happened to all be
in VA at the same time and it had been over 10 years since my sister and
I and all the 4 girl cousins had been together-just us girls! So, we
planned a spur of the moment trip to all be together for one night at
Sarah's, and of course all of our kids-6 women (all cousins) and 8 kids
under the age of 7 (all 1st and 2nd cousins, I think ;) It was grand. We
had a blast. The kids played hard, gave us a great performance Saturday
night (unfortunately my girls were wearing skirts and some of the flips
and cart-wheels and tumbles they did I cant post pics of, but trust me,
they were amazing). I'm so blessed to be in the family I'm in and to
say we witnessed and worshiped together Saturday together night is an
understatement! Jesus was present and thanked many times over for the
ways He has brought our family together and blessed our generation of Sides' women!
