Spring Break!

We had a great Spring Break!! Our week started out with our cousins coming to visit Monday afternoon-Wednesday Am! We went to the Asheboro Zoo on Tuesday and the kids had such a great time and the weather was perfect! The kids just love being together and our time is so sweet when we're all hanging out. The 2nd half of our week was spent in Blowing Rock/Boone NC! Brian and I had not been up the mtns in 7 years! It's so crazy how we spent almost 3.5 years up there (well, me mostly on the weekends ;) and then to go that long without seeing that Beauty was crazy! We went with our friends and stayed at their mountain house in Blowing Rock. We had a great time together, the girls did some shopping, well, a lot of shopping and the guys took the kids down to the creek even though the weather was in the 40's! They played outside swinging, riding bikes, flying kites, watching movies, playing with AG dolls, and putting on an awesome singing show Thursday am! ;) The guys took a hike after we got back from shopping Thursday afternoon and I know Brian loved being back in one of his favorite hiking spots! The kids played SO well together and it was very relaxing having them all together because they had a constant playmate around!Friday morning our family headed to Boone to show the girls where daddy went to school! They have changed so much on the campus that it was really fun for Brian to see all the new buildings and to show the girls places he had been. They loved the campus and ran around like they were college students themselves ;) We went through the famous tunnel, visited the new bookstore, went to Macadoo's on King St (a fave for mommy and daddy back in the day), got new t-shirts from King St, went to see the newly added on Mountaineer Stadium, ad then ended our time at Boone Drug Store on King street getting ice cream! The girls loved this big bear in there and kept saying, "daddy, tell us more about your school!" It was a very fun day being together in Boone and as we stopped at a few overlooks on the Blue Ridge Parkway, I was reminded of God's amazing handiwork and how blessed we are to have such gorgeous mtns so near us to see!
