While the cousins were staying with us for several days, we decided to take a little field trip to Julian NC and go visit Homeland Creamery! It was super fun and so neat to learn so much about cows :) We took a hayride that toured us around their beautiful land, showed us all the pregnant cows and those waiting to be old enough to become pregnant, the corn fields, soybean field, and the donkeys they have. We came back to feed a baby calf with a bottle, tour the "nursery" where the newborn calves are housed so they dont get eaten by coyotes at night, and then have a small cup of their own homemade ice cream! Yum! The best part is that they sell all of their all natural dairy products in about 4 of the grocery stores we shop in!
