My Little BIG Kid

Hannah started the Pre-K class at First Baptist this year! She is officially the Big Kid in the school! This year is bittersweet for me...to see her growing up and becoming a little girl and not a preschooler any more is exciting, yet knowing this is her last year in a preschool, right near my class, protected by a program that loves and serves her well, going to school 1/2 day, is so hard. I want every day of this school year for HER to go by so slowly! She is thrilled to be at school again where mommy will teach across the hall from her and get to take a book bag (that she picked out all by herself b/c one of her teachers loves Owls and next year she will be a Sternberger Owl!) She isnt however, thrilled to be the only girl in her little class of 7 kids. We have been praying for another little girl to join her class, but we trust the Lord in His placement for Hannah in this specific class and with these specific kids. We know she needs this year to mature and grow emotionally and academically, so maybe being the only girl is a part of making that happen. We're just in hopes she will get a little extra lovin each day being the only girl ;)
Facts about Hannah in the 5's class:
1. She is taking gymnastics again at Tumblebees
2. Going to Awana on Wednesdays and learning new verses every week
3. Loves going to school on M,W,F when mommy teaches, and has been crying on T/TH morning and doesnt want to go
4. Sassy, Sassy, Sassy-her mouth and her lack of patience keep her well-acquainted with time out
5. She cant get enough of her puppy Copper
6. She learns so well through songs and loves memorizing poems in song form
7. She wants to read so badly
8. Knows all of her letters and working on writing them and numbers correctly
9. Loves to play baby/mommy with Hailee daily and prays daily for a real baby brother
10. Loves to go "super high" on the swings in our backyard
11. Shyness has set in and she's not sure how to handle it-sometimes acts really silly or just freezes ;)
12. Everything has to match
13. Great eater-tries new things, likes a wide variety of foods
14. Gives the best hugs and says "i love you mama" all the time
15. Has a huge heart and prays for so many kids, esp ones that are sick
