The girls school, Sternberger, only does ONE fundraiser a year in October, and it's having the kids write letters to family and close friends asking for them to sponser the kids in a Run...Owls on the Run! The kids come out by grade level and run a mile, around a small area on the front lawn that's roped off. They play loud fun music, the mascot joins in on the fun, and grapes and water for each kid afterwards. The kids get to see family and friends support them and run at the same time. The school usually raises over $30k each year and it all goes to supplies and things the school needs! It's a super fun day for the kids as they all get Tshirts and have a 1/2 day of school!
