On Saturday, I decided we'd introduce Daddy into the craft world that we live in most days!! The girls were playing with pasta in the kitchen when I decided it would be great fun to color some pasta for the girls to later play with, string necklaces with, etc. And, it's a great activity for science-mixing colors, gross motor-shaking the bags, fun-adding food coloring and shaking, and sorting-pouring pasta into different cups! I sent Daddy upstairs to get the Rubbing Alcohol and he "tested" out the experiment 1st to make sure it worked...aka, trusting mommy! They had a great time and I think I'll let the girls make necklaces soon with their new pasta!

the girls playing and sorting their pasta into bowls!

Hailee adding the food coloring in...

Hannah shaking the alcohol, food coloring, and pasta together...

and there you have it...red and green/blue pasta!
Of course, the fun activity didnt end w/o a good laugh from Hannah! Once again, she found something to climb into and sit in...
the girls will love making necklaces! just a mommy note: we dyed pasta this summer, Claire was still putting stuff in her mouth like I know Hannah still does...I let ours dry for a few days first but some of the dye still came off on her hands and in her mouth!
ReplyDeleteBTW, love the new header picture! :)
