Happy Valentine's!!!

So, we have been making some Valentine's for a few days now and the 1st attempt was with jewels, stickers, pre-cut heart shapes, glue, etc...and suprisingly enough, Hailee did a great job with them. However, she used a lot of jewels on a few hearts and they were so heavy that a) we couldnt have mailed them w/o lots of stamps, and b) there was not enough jewels left for more than just a few hearts. So, we put that day's craft to an end! This morning we made a mailbox that I had seen on a homeschool blog and I had a great idea that we'd make more valentine's and put them in the "mailbox" to send to their friends. Well, they were only interested in putting everything but paper products in there! But, here is a picture of what I showed Hailee the concept should be...

So, instead of going the route I had planned, we totally went a different route and I copied an idea from my friend, Meredith. We used paint and a heart shaped cookie cutter to make some Valentine's that I thought Hailee could help me cut out and we could glue down on some paper. Well, Hannah did it one time and that was all she wanted to do! The next thing she does is rub her hands in the paint and then wipe her face....giving me this look...

Hailee, on the other hand, had a great time and made 3-4 heart shapes! She couldnt help herself from just laughing at Hannah and quickly requested I take their clothes off to let them put paint on their body. So, being the fun, awesome, laid-back, let my kids do whatever they ask, mom that I am, I complied!! (that was sarcasm in case you didnt know!) So, we made hearts on their belly's and I had a quick thought it would be so cute to put in their valentine's day cards a picture with them with a painted heart on their bellys, but in that quick thought, I didnt think about them being in their "undergarments" and figured that wouldnt be appropriate for a picture! So, b/c it's pretty innocent, and they're 3 and 1, I'm posting it on their blog!! Too cute not to post! Happy Valentine's from these sweet little girls!!
